Nizami Spice Mix
A classic British Indian Restaurant nizami spice mix made with a pre-cooked base sauce. Rich, fragrant and ready in under 20 minutes.

100 ml oil Β· 750 gm onions (prepared weight) Β· 1 tspn salt Β· 1 tbspn turmeric Β· 1 tspn ground coriander Β· Β½ tspn ground cumin Β· +8 more
Ingredients
- Approx 2 tspn (10 ml)
- 1 clove
- ΒΌ tspn ground cinnamon
- Β½ tspn desiccated coconut
- ΒΌ tspn turmeric
- ΒΌ tspn poppy seeds
- ΒΌ tspn cardamom powder (or equivalent ground seeds)
- ΒΌ tspn cumin seeds
Method

In a pestle and mortar grind the clove, desiccated coconut, poppy seeds and cumin seeds to a fine powder.

Mix in the ground cinnamon, turmeric and cardamom powder.

Store in an airtight jar and keep in a cool and dark place.
